| who we are ... |
We
are a group of students and teachers from Dominion Christian
High School dedicated and eager to devote hours of work
to serve our community for the glory of God. Each year
students apply to be a part of our mission trips to
areas in need of our time and ministry, and teachers
here at the school lead these young people to serve
both locally and distantly.
In
recent years we have grown into a large family of parents
and friends who have given generously of their prayers
and efforts to support us in our journies. We have been
blessed with godly leadership and a humbling spirit
of servanthood from the students who choose to raise
the support to attend one of these trips. |
| what we have done... |
Over the previous three years we have taken nearly 100 students and teachers to work in the Native American communities of southern Oklahoma, a small, impoverished coal-mining town in Kentucky, and a Mississippi River community in need.
Our team has been kept busy painting houses, installing fences, landscaping yards, reclaiming overgrown lots, building ramps for handicapped access, staining and power washing decks and houses, laying sod, and ministering through song and sports. |
| what we want to do... |
The great commission sends us “unto Judea, Sumaria and to the uttermost ends of the earth” which seems to represent the local, national and international venues of ministry that we are called to pursue.
Even though our summer trips around the country provide wonderful opportunities for our students to serve each year, there are many local and immediate needs that could be helped by a crew of students ready to go for a weekend trip, rather than waiting for a full summer work trip.
We would like to form our own disaster-relief-style program in which we have a supply of tools and materials in a mobile trailer that can be taken to any area where there is a need. This would allow us to have a crew of students and teachers ready to fill any need in our community that exists or arises. |
